HubEurope is a multi-carrier shipping partner that gives businesses access to negotiated rates across DPD, InPost, Royal Mail, DHL, EVRi, Parcelforce and others, on a single contract. They sit in a category a lot of shippers have heard of but few can define precisely: the carrier reseller. This piece covers who they are, how the model works, and when it's the right fit.

Who Are HubEurope?

HubEurope is a UK-based carrier reseller and carrier management service. Rather than operating vans and depots, they hold commercial relationships with the major parcel networks and provide their customers access to those services through one agreement, one point of contact and one monthly invoice.

Two things distinguish them from a straightforward rate broker:

  • Buying power. Rates are negotiated on HubEurope's combined customer volume, not on yours individually. HubEurope reports an average saving of 27% against carrier rate card.

  • Ongoing management. They handle service selection, collections, operational queries, claims and carrier performance on an ongoing basis, rather than setting rates up once and leaving you to it.

They're a good fit for growing eCommerce brands, retailers, fulfilment operations and 3PLs that want a real multi-carrier mix without building the function to run one. They are not the right answer for every operation, which is covered further down.

HubEurope integrates directly with Helm, so the rates and services they supply can be applied automatically to every order leaving the warehouse.

What is a Carrier Reseller & Is One Right For Your Operation?

A carrier reseller buys parcel capacity in bulk across several carriers and sells it on to businesses at rates they could not negotiate on their own volume. You hold one contract, receive one invoice and deal with one account team, instead of running separate agreements with each network.

For most brands and 3PLs shipping under a few thousand parcels a week, that is the difference between a realistic multi-carrier strategy and a theoretical one.

How Does the Carrier Reseller Model Work?

Resellers aggregate volume. A carrier prices your contract on what you ship; a reseller negotiates on what all of its customers ship combined, then passes a portion of that discount on. The reseller keeps the margin between the two and takes on the account management, billing and claims work in exchange.

Three things follow from that structure:

  • Your rates stop being tied to your own volume. A business shipping 500 parcels a week can access pricing built on a far larger book.

  • Carrier switching becomes a configuration change, not a procurement project. The commercial relationship already exists.

  • The reseller carries the admin. Collections, service failures, claims and carrier performance sit with them.

Reseller, Direct Contract or Carrier Software: What's the Difference?

The three are not mutually exclusive. Plenty of operations keep one direct contract for their core lane and use a reseller for everything else.

Where is HubEurope Strong?

Rate Access

Preferential rates negotiated on combined customer volume, across economy, next-day, oversized, specialist and international services. Your own saving will depend on your parcel profile, destination mix and what you currently pay, which is why HubEurope benchmarks existing costs before anyone commits.

Breadth on One Relationship

The practical benefit of multi-carrier shipping is resilience as much as price. When a network is disrupted, a service stops performing or volumes spike, you need an alternative already live rather than one you start onboarding that week. HubEurope provides that under a single point of contact.

Fractional Carrier Management

This is the part most integrations leave out. HubEurope's team handles rates, service selection, collections, operational queries and claims, including chasing the carrier when a parcel goes missing. For an operation not large enough to justify a dedicated carrier manager, that is a genuine function you get without hiring for it.

When is a Carrier Reseller the Wrong Choice?

Worth being straight about this. A reseller is usually not the answer if:

  • You already ship high, predictable volume on a small number of lanes. Your own direct rates may beat anything a reseller can pass on.

  • You have an in-house carrier management function. You are paying for a service you already run.

  • You need a bespoke carrier service or contractual term that only a direct relationship will give you.

How Does Helm Work With HubEurope?

HubEurope supplies the carriers, the rates and the carrier management. Helm turns that into automated despatch inside the warehouse.

Once your HubEurope account is connected to Helm, shipping rules select the right carrier and service on every order, based on:

  • Destination or postcode

  • Parcel weight and dimensions

  • Order value

  • SKU or product type

  • Packaging type

Your commercial shipping strategy then runs consistently across every order, rather than being re-decided at the packing bench. That removes the mis-shipped service and the cost of putting it right.

Beyond rule-based selection, Helm handles:

  • Batch label generation at volume, whether that's fifty parcels or fifty thousand, with no drop in performance

  • Direct output to label printers, automated packing machinery or batch export

  • Specialised hazard labelling for fragile, battery and dangerous goods consignments

  • Customs data generated and transmitted automatically to speed up border clearance

  • Tracking sync, with tracking numbers and delivery updates flowing back into Helm so warehouse teams and customers stay informed

What Does Setting It Up Involve?

  1. Connect. Link your HubEurope account to Helm. HubEurope reviews your shipping profile, current carrier mix and requirements.

  2. Build the carrier strategy. Choose the services that fit the business: economy, next-day, oversized, specialist, international.

  3. Automate in Helm. Set shipping rules so orders allocate to the right carrier and service as part of the normal warehouse workflow.

  4. Keep reviewing. As volumes and destinations change, HubEurope revisits the carrier mix so it suits the business you've become rather than the one you were at signing.
